Casale Orgogliosa is the result of the work and heart of Maurizio Del Bello, who lovingly transformed this ancient country home into a peaceful retreat for families, friends, and travelers from all over the world.
The history of the Casale dates back more than a century, when it was originally a humble farmhouse. After the Second World War, two generals purchased the property to spend their retirement immersed in the peace and beauty of the Abruzzo countryside, not far from the places where they had once fought.
In 1993, Maurizio acquired the Casale with the fruits of the success of his Italian restaurants in Switzerland, passionately giving life to his dream: to create a unique and welcoming holiday place in the heart of the Costa dei Trabocchi.

The first steps toward the transformation of the Casale were taken by his father, who built the swimming pool and the garden walls, laying the foundations of the dream. Sadly, he too passed away prematurely.
Over the years, some of Maurizio’s closest friends helped him continue the work, slowly turning the property into an ever more beautiful place. In the final years of his life, Maurizio devoted himself completely to his project, working with his own hands and spending his days sculpting his vision into reality.
Maurizio was a powerful, passionate, and creative soul, full of warmth, humor, and vision. After a life divided between Switzerland and Italy, he dedicated his final years to shaping this Casale with love and craftsmanship. Here, he discovered his passion for sculpture, developed a unique artistic technique, created corners of beauty, and dreamed of opening a school of art and hospitality.
Although he left us suddenly and unexpectedly on June 1st, 2025, at the age of 67, his spirit continues to live on: in his sculptures and windows, in every living tree, and in every gesture of welcome.
We — his four children, relatives, and close friends — now take care of Casale Orgogliosa
with the same love and dedication as Maurizio.
Together, we are working to fulfill his final dream, with your help.
We hope you truly feel at home here, just as Maurizio would have wished.
